We are delighted to welcome Dr. Gaurav Kumar to our research group.
Gaurav completed his Ph.D. at IIT Kharagpur in the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering, focusing on Logistics and Supply Chain Management with a specialization in Operations Research and Analytics for Rail Freight Transportation. He has actively contributed to various research consultancy projects, including optimization and predictive analytics in rail freight transportation funded by TMILL India, COVID-19 vaccine supply chain project funded by CISCO, USA, and Drone deployment strategy project. His research has been published in prominent SCI-indexed journals, such as Computers & Industrial Engineering, International Transactions in Operational Research, and Benchmarking: An International Journal, alongside several Scopus-indexed conference proceedings. In recognition of his work, he received the SERB, Govt of India International Travel Grant 2023 to present at an international Rail Operations Conference in Belgrade, Serbia. He also secured Financial International Travel Grants in 2022 and 2023 from IIT Kharagpur to present at the IEEE International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Singapore, respectively. With over five years of research experience and three years in the industry, Gaurav has worked with many notable industries. He is a full-time member of International Association of Railway Operations Research and has memberships with INFORMS and IISE, USA.
